What Is Spectroscopy

SPECTROSCOPY CHEMISTRY NOTES

What is Spectroscopy?

Spectroscopy:-  It deals with the study of interaction of electromagnetic radiations with matter.
Spectroscopy is the study of interaction of electromagnetic radiations with chemical species, As a result of these interaction, the energy of electromagnetic radiations get absorbed or emitted by the matter in discrete amounts (photons or quanta) and a spectrum is produced.
There are two principal classes of spectrum  i.e. Absorption spectrum and Emission spectrum.

Types of Spectroscopy?

There are so many types of spectroscopy. Some of Important types are given below. To get full detail of these spectroscopy visit our Spectroscopy Page.

1. NMR Spectroscopy

2. Visible and Ultraviolet Spectroscopy

3. Mass Spectrometry

4. IR Spectroscopy

5. Microwave And Vibrational Spectroscopy

6. Electronic Spectroscopy

7. Magnetic Resonance Spectroscopy
